Real Estate Law

Wifler Law Group proudly represents individuals, investors, and corporations in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Our responsibilities include reviewing and drafting purchase and sale contracts, preparing closing documentation, conducting title clearance, overseeing due diligence, consulting on financing matters, evaluating loan documentation and composing private mortgages.

We understand that real estate transactions can be stressful. To that end, it is imperative to be represented by someone that understands the issues that can arise and is proactive in addressing those potential problems. We accomplish this goal, in part, through constant communication and discussion, from the moment the contract is signed until the completion of the transaction at the closing table.

While not every state uses attorneys for real property transactions, we believe it is vital to have a representative to protect your interests. Our goal is to advise, counsel, and most importantly protect our clients to ensure a smooth and successful transaction.

Family Law

The team at Wifler Law Group understands and appreciates the emotional damage a divorce or parentage case may have on a spouse/parent and their families. Oftentimes the effects continue long after the issues are finalized and result in post-decree litigation. Family law attorneys do not have firsthand knowledge of the problems associated with the parties’ relationship nor the potential impact to children of the parties. As a result, the attorneys at WLG endeavor to understand what is most important to their clients, and carefully listen to what the clients have to say, to best assist them throughout the process and attain their ultimate goals.

Our team has years of experience in all aspects of family law, including maintenance/alimony, the fair and equitable division of assets and debts, as well as custody and all child related matters, including seeking contribution to college related expenses and relocation.

Litigation

One of the objectives of transactional law, is to take the necessary steps to avoid the time and expense of entering the courtroom. However, judicial intervention can be necessary to resolve a conflict. Wifler Law Group handles litigation in a variety of areas including landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, and foreclosures. Our services include conducting research, filing pleadings, preparing motions, briefs, opinion letters, and memorandums and participating in all aspects of discovery.

Peter J Wifler

Pete Wifler has earned an exemplary reputation based on his expertise in the areas of family law and small business/corporate matters.

Upon graduating from John Marshall Law School with High Distinction Honors in 1987, Pete joined the Chicago law firm of Ungaretti & Harris and practiced there until he joined Salvi, Salvi & Wifler. Prior to law school, Pete worked as a CPA for Ernest & Young. He has been successful in utilizing his CPA background to assist his clients on financial issues affecting their legal needs.

Currently, Pete represents individuals in all types of divorce and family law matters. His approach has been to seek resolution of emotionally charged matters by taking into strong consideration the financial and emotional toll on the clients, and oftentimes their children. Pete’s goals are aligned with his clients’ goals, and he believes most cases should be settled without a trial. If a fair settlement cannot be reached, however, he is prepared to seek a court resolution when necessary.

Pete also represents many individuals and small businesses with their corporate matters, from drafting and reviewing contracts, to assisting with purchase and sales transactions.

Charles W. Wifler (“Charlie”) joined Wifler Law Group in December 2020, practicing primarily in real estate and family law matters. Charlie is a third-generation attorney who dedicates his time on each client’s goals. Whether it is a smooth real estate transaction or a complicated custody case Charlie keeps his clients informed every step of the way.

Every case, every issue, and every client is unique and requires different considerations and attention. Charlie prides himself with his focus on each individual client’s targets and taking the necessary steps in obtaining them. Charlie has experience with both high and low net worth matters and real estate deals which provide him with the tools necessary to protect his clients and obtain just results.
